Preview: Mariners Look to Make Noise Against the Bearcats
NANAIMO - On a weekend where students and fans are encouraged to Make Some Noise for Mental Health, the Mariners women's basketball squad looks to make noise on the court against the Columbia Bible College Bearcats.

Harriette Mackenzie led the Mariners with 26 points and 12 rebounds in VIU's sole trip to Abbotsford this season. Emma Nguyen, with 11 points, was CBC's top point-getter.

VIU looks to use its advantage on the boards as VIU's Harriette Mackenzie tops the PACWEST and the CCAA in rebounding (13.7 per game). Kayla Gregory sits third in the conference with 8 rebounds/game. However, CBC's Brianna Grondo is no slouch on the glass, averaging 9.2 rebounds per game--good for second spot in the PACWEST.
MAKE SOME NOISE FOR MENTAL HEALTH
The VIU Thrive team will be at Friday's game with information on mental health supports and resources at VIU. Members of the Island Swish youth club team can get in for free by wearing an Island Swish shirt or jersey.
