Thank you for supporting the VIU Mariners! Here's what you need to know about attending a Mariners game.
Basketball & Volleyball
Court sports (basketball & volleyball) are played at the VIU Gymnasium, Building 190, 900 Fifth Street, Nanaimo, B.C.
Tickets
Tickets can be purchased with cash or debit only.
Youth (Under 12) & VIU Students (with valid student ID): FREE
General Admission (19+): $6
Two Adults Special: $10
Alumni, Seniors and Non-VIU Students: $4
Youth & School Teams
Calling all school, youth, and club teams! Players and coaches, when travelling together, can attend VIU Mariners games for free. Please fill out our team registration form and we will contact you to confirm arrangements.
Parking
Pay parking is in effect 12 months of the year, 8am-8pm, Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays, at all parking lots on the Nanaimo campus.

Food Concession (Available during PACWEST league matches only)
We offer a modest concession stand with pizza, candy, and drinks. All food purchases are cash only.
Soccer
The Mariners have two home fields in Nanaimo:
Q'unq'inuqwstuxw Stadium at Nanaimo District Secondary School: 355 Wakesiah Avenue
The field is located between Serauxmen Stadium and the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre.
Parking is located at Serauxmen Stadium.
Beban Park (Merle Logan) Turf Fields: 2235 Dorman Road, Nanaimo
Parking is located in a half-paved, half-gravel lot right beside the turf fields.
Please check our current schedule to confirm which venue is booked for each soccer game.
Tickets
Regular season soccer matches are free to attend.
Fan Code of Conduct
The VIU Mariners are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable game day experience for all visiting fans. We encourage our fans to cheer respectfully and enthusiastically at our events. Fans displaying behavior that is unruly, disruptive, threatening, or violent in nature, including intimidating, abusive, or discriminatory harassment based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, ability, and sexual orientation, will be removed from the facility.

Prohibited Items
The following items are not allowed in the VIU Gym:
- Weapons
- Fireworks
- Laser pointers
- Illegal drugs and substances.
- Drones
- Poles and selfie sticks
- Skateboards, rollerblades or bicycles
- Alcohol
- Noise makers must be used in a manner that respects the comfort and enjoyment of all guests. Air horns, megaphones and whistles of any kind are not permitted. Drums are permitted, provided they fit within the guest’s lap.
- Signs, flags or displays that are offensive, racist, discriminatory, use inappropriate language, or are religious, political or commercial in nature. All signs and flags must not obscure the view of other fans.

Can’t make the game in person? All of our home games are streamed live on our VIU Mariners Athletics YouTube channel.

Club Sports
Club sports run game days separately from the VIU Department of Athletics and feature admission requirements that are set by each club.
VIU Baseball plays home games at Serauxmen Stadium, 745 Third Street, Nanaimo.
VIU Hockey plays home games at the Nanaimo Ice Centre, 750 Third Street, Nanaimo.
Both venues are walking distance from VIU's Nanaimo campus!
