Lucas Torres and Daniel Mascarenhas power VIU to a PACWEST semifinal win over Camosun
NEW WESTMINSTER, BC - VIU will go for gold thanks to some big contributions from the Gold and Green.
Brazilians Lucas Torres--with a game-high 13 kills along with 6 aces--and dynamic middle blocker Daniel Mascarenhas led the #2-ranked Mariners to a 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19) victory over the #3-ranked Camosun Chargers.

Fifth-year middle blocker Daniel Mascarenhas was named VIU's Player of the Game.
VIU advances to the conference gold medal game against either the host Douglas Royals or the #1-seed COTR Avalanche. The gold medal game goes Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at the Douglas College Gymnasium.
The winner of the PACWEST gold medal match will advance to the 2024 CCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship, March 7-10 in Victoria, BC and hosted by Camosun College. As hosts, the Chargers have an automatic spot in the tournament.
