VIU faces Capilano with a berth in the PACWEST championship game on the line

KELOWNA, B.C. - VIU men's basketball has had some epic playoff battles with the Capilano Blues over the last few seasons, and the rivalry continues in 2024 as the Mariners and Blues face off in a PACWEST provincial semifinal.

VIU won all four matchups with Capilano in the regular season: two wins at VIU in October and two wins at Capilano in January.

The Blues will be flying high after a quarterfinal win over the CBC Bearcats on Friday. Kash Lang was named Capilano's player of the game.

The winner advanceds to the PACWEST gold medal game on Saturday, March 2 at 8:00 p.m. and will play the winner of the earlier semifinal between the Langara Falcons and Camosun Chargers.
