PACWEST League All-Stars Announced

VIU basketball players win several league awards !!

From the VIU Women's team Amber Lease was named a 1st team All-Star.
Caoch Bryce says "Amber is a game changer, without a doubt the reason we are 17-1.
She does not need to score and will change the outcome of the game with her defense, unselfish play, tenacity, and leadership.
That said her numbers are impressive at 10 points and almost 5 assists (in just 26 mins). She is # 1 in the conference in assists, 2nd in steals, 3rd in 3pt %.

Avery Snider was also a 1st team All-Star.  
Avery is 2nd in the league in scoring at 15 pts/game (29ppg over 40 min) and 8th in rebounding at 6/game.
She leads the league in FT % at 86% and shoots 30% from the 3pts line.

Shayce Johnston made the 2nd team. 
"Shayce has had an amazing 2nd year for us". remarks Tony.
Shayce is 2nd in the league is FG %, 4th in the league in rebounding, and 5th in blocks.

Coach Tony Bryce has been recognized a PACWEST Coach of the year. Led the team to a 17wins 1Loss, taking 1st place.
This is Tony's fourth PACWEST Coach of the year award, winning three time as the Mariners men's basketball coach.

Harry Fayle on the men's team received two honours, PACWEST player of the year and a 1st team All-Star.
Statistically Harry is a league leader in points and assists, but he is one of the best defensive players in the league. 
"He is a team first guy who leads everyday by example.  He is professional in his approach and is always ready to go." comments Head Coach Matt Kuzminski 

Tyus Barfoot was named to the All-Star 1st team and Defensive Player of the Year.
Tyus is a great student and one of the Mariners captains.
On the court he is extremely versatile.
"He can guard all 5 positions at an elite level, he can rebound and start the break, and
he has really improved his playmaking ability. A luxury to have as a coach" Says Matt

Jerod Dorby mad the All-Star 2nd team. 
Jerod has had a great senior season captaining us to a league leading record. Jerod had such a big role in
facilitating our offence through the pace he is able to play our pick and roll game. He makes all of our guys
better by setting up open shots for them. Jerod is a great rebounder on both ends particularly the offensive
