AT STAKE
VIU is locked into the #1 seed going into the PACWEST playoffs (February 23-24, Douglas College) and the Mariners will play the fourth seed in the conference. CBC has everything to play for this weekend as the Bearcats currently sit in fifth place and need to get into the conference top four to qualify for the PACWEST playoffs. A combination of wins over VIU and favourable results in the Capilano/COTR and Douglas/Camosun weekend matchups would allow CBC to qualify.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
- VIU: No surprises here: all eyes will be on Brickwood, Yamada, and Neid in their final two games at the VIU Gym.
- CBC: Fifth-year Janae Bruinsma may be playing the final weekend set of her excellent PACWEST career. She sits third in conference digs per set (3.26).
