Mariners return to home court for the first time since November 11, face a tough test in the Douglas Royals
NANAIMO - The PACWEST-leading and #2 CCAA-ranked VIU Mariners women's volleyball team faces a tough test in a return to PACWEST action.
Back on home court since for the first time since a 3-1 win over Camosun on November 11, the 8-2 Mariners host the 7-5 Douglas Royals in a battle between the top two seeds in the conference.
The Mariners are on a five-game winning streak while the Royals opened up the 2024 spring semester with two wins over the College of the Rockies Avalanche.
Fans can cheer on the Mariners at the VIU Gym on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. Games will be broadcast live on the VIU Mariners Athletics YouTube page / PACWEST.TV.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
VIU: Jacey Neid and Emma Schill face their former Royals squad while Grace Brisebois looks to improve upon an excellent season that sees her ranked fifth in blocks, seventh in aces, and 11th in total offense.
Douglas: Lauren Bowman sits fourth in total offense (3.64 average) and kills (3.02 per set) in the conference.
