"Lots of positives for us and I thought we were good enough to today to secure all of the points as we created a number of quality scoring chances".

"I thought we defended very well as a team and successfully pressed well in Capilano's end in the first half, which they maybe did not expect." Comments Larry Stefanek
We finished two excellent goals and created more opportunities which we did not finish.
Positive signs, we are creating chances going forward and working well defensively together.
A very good team win and good start to the season for us.

Capilano frustrated us and upset our rhythm while also looking dangerous on the counter attack.
Our first half performance was nowhere near what we expect of each other particularly in possession, never the less we were resolute, stuck to our style of play and got a deserved victory.

VIU 2 Capilano 2 (women)
Two quick goals by Capilano had the Mariners battling back most of the game.
It took until the second half when Kanae Yamamoto scored her first goal as a Mariner, followed by a beauty header by Chloe Gummer from a perfect cross from Nicole Foglietta.
The game remained a 2-2 tie.
"We made some tactical and personnel adjustments however still ran in to some challenges created by ourselves.
Again, we started slowly and got punished severely.
The character shown in the second half was magnificent and we will take positives but lots of learning points from this weekend.
We were very pleased that everyone got chance to take the field this weekend and compete for a place in the team" Comments Lindo
