Bio

Jacob Thom, who joins the Mariners as assistant coach in 2022-23, was a stellar basketball player for the Mariners from 2007-08 to 2011-12.

After being named to the BCCAA (now PACWEST) All-Rookie Team in his first year, Thom was named a First Team All-Star in all four of his following seasons. He is a two-time CCAA All-Canadian who won a CCAA national bronze medal in 2011 and was named to the Second All-Tournament Team. In 2012, he was named Basketball BC's Most Outstanding College Player of the Year.

Thom (Kitkatla) is also a three-time Seniors MVP at the All Native Basketball Tournament and has coached high school basketball in Nanaimo.
