Registration and Refund Policies

Mariners in Training may modify, add, or delete activities from the program based on camper interests and facility space.

In the very rare case where a program is cancelled because of low enrolment, we aim to give families as much notice as possible. We will transfer campers to another camp program if families are interested and space allows. Otherwise, we will provide you with a full refund.

"Last Minute Registration" Policy

Registration will close on the Friday prior to each camp. If there is a last-minute registration request, please email camp@viu.ca.

 Refund Policy

** There is an option for cancellation insurance through the ActiveWorks Camp Registration program offered at checkout. This is not mandatory and is not issued through Vancouver Island University and we therefore have no control over this insurance option. 

 Written notice received within 7 days of purchase will be considered for a refund.

• After 7 days, if the refund request is due to a medical reason, a doctor’s note may be required for a refund, minus the administration fee.
• All refund requests are subject to a $10 administration fee.
• Written notice received prior to 14 days of start date (or more) will be eligible for a refund, minus the administration fee.
• If the refund request is due to a medical reason a doctor’s note may be required for a refund request made with less than 14 days before the first day of the program.
• If the refund is being requested 13 days or less before the first day of the program and no medical note is provided, a 50% refund will be issued.
• Once the program has started, refunds will be pro-rated up to a maximum of 50% of the total program fee.
